Compatibility tester

Is your piano compatible? Find out in two minutes.

Connect your piano to this computer with a USB cable, then follow the four steps. Nothing is installed and nothing is sent: it all happens inside your browser.

Works on Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera (desktop). On Firefox, only part of the test may succeed. On Safari — Mac, iPhone, iPad — MIDI access doesn't exist: the test can't start.
1

Plug in and detect the piano

USB cable between the piano and the computer, piano switched on. Your browser will ask permission to reach MIDI devices.

Play any key. It should appear here.

3

Check the internal sound can be switched off

The decisive step: for the screen to take over the sound, it has to be able to silence the piano's own engine. We send the command, you play, and you tell us what happens.

Check sound can come back through your speakers

If your piano accepts audio over USB, we send a test tone straight to its speakers and you confirm by ear.
